Located in the coastal Maine sand dunes this shingle style beach cottage is designed as a vacation retreat for out of state clients. The site is narrow with adjacent houses very close by. There is a beautiful 180 degree ocean view to the East. The new house replaces an existing camp that is substandard in all respects. In order to comply with local and state regulations the new structure is built on a pier foundation and adheres to lot coverage, height, and greatest practical extent limitations.
The main living level is very informal with one large space comprised of the Kitchen, Living and Dining areas. This main space has direct access to a wide covered porch and is supported by a first floor Guest Room, Bath and Mechanical space. Upstairs the Master Suite fronts the view with two other support Bed Rooms sharing a full Bath. The exterior imagery is evocative of beach front cottage architecture of the area.
