Located in rural New Hampshire this center brings people together in a natural setting to explore the environment and history of the area. Our concept is to blend the structure into the sloping site with creative roof lines, detail and a palette of materials that relate to the surroundings. Its siting was carefully strategized to be minimally disruptive to the surrounding trees and rock out cropping’s while taking advantage of views and solar orientation.
A subtle and welcoming curved entry porch canopy greets visitors and invites them into a gallery space where displays of artifacts and art work are waiting to be seen. . A large community room with an anchoring stone fire place and an abundance of windows serves as the main function space. Smaller meeting rooms, support spaces and a large screen porch completes the main level. A lower walkout level houses a kitchen and dining space as well as an office and storage.
